| Sparring gear is required at the rank of Green Belt as sparring is now a classroom and testing requirement. Sparring gear must be TRMAI approved gear with the TRMAI symbol. Sparring gear must be brought to every class and event, with the exception of awards ceremonies. Target Pads may be purchased at any time and are useful in the required contact skills. Target pads must be brought to every class and event with your sparring gear. Rebreakable Boards have been required at the rank of Brown belt but can now be purchased at Green belt. In order to advance from rank to the next (after the rank of Green Belt), the student must break a board. The accuracy and speed learned with the contact skills for each rank becomes more important when combined with proper technique required for board breaking. The skills required for board breaking require more than one or two testing cycles of practice. Boards must be brought to every class and event with your sparring gear and target pad. |
